 Isaiah 61

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me,
Because the Lord has anointed me
To bring good news to the afflicted;
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to captives
And freedom to prisoners;

The Real Deal

God created man for love, which means

God had a desire for love.

To love and to be loved.

It says he created man in his image, So wouldn't that mean that God created man with a desire to be loved. God created man with longings with feeling and with emotions all of which were meant for a relationship with God,

but God in his all knowing, knew that man would disobey.

When man disobeyed in the garden, sin entered into man, separated man from God and the very longings, desires, and emotions that we're meant for God and we're being met by God suddenly became void and empty and now man without God is forever in search of something or someone to fill that void within them and since Satan has a counterfeit for everything God has or does, man is out there trying to fill his wants and desires with the counterfeit which is never the same. It’s not real and it will never satisfy!

Have you ever seen something that you really wanted but you settled for the knock off version because it was going to cost you to much to buy the real deal?

You are never really satisfied with it because in the back of your mind you know that if you would have waited and worked, you could have saved money and you would have the one you really wanted.

Many Christians today are settling for less than what God has for them because they are bound by a lackadaisical Spirit that isn't willing to pay the price or do the thing that they need to do to receive the very thing they are longing for.

Like Jacob and Esua, if Esua hadn't been so lackadaisical he would have cooked himself a bowl of soup, but instead he traded his birthright for bowl of Jacob’s soup.

What about Cain and Able? Cain was lackadaisical in his giving and he brought his halfhearted offering to God and then he became jealous because God received Ables offering and not his, so he killed Able.

The Holy Spirit provides us with all the resources, energy and power to complete every task within God’s will. Many people succumb to the temptation to grow lukewarm in their attitudes toward service because they think they don't have what it takes, they think that they do not have enough resources, energy or authority to move ahead in their ministries.

Remember what the disciples said to Jesus when they were faced with the task of feeding 5,000 hungry people, "Where could we get enough bread in this remote place to feed such a crowd?" Jesus took the seven loaves and fish and when he had given thanks, he broke them and gave them to the disciples and they in turn to the people. They all ate and were SATISFIED."(Matt. 15:33-37)

When the disciples were standing there with 5000 people to feed they didn't have what it took either they didn't have the resources, but Jesus took the bread and the fish and he blessed it. He didn't feed the people he gave it to the disciples and they fed the people.

I believe he did that to show us no matter how seemingly limited our resources are God’s tasks ahead of us are never greater than the power and provisions behind us.

We need to cry out to the Holy Spirit to convict us and correct us when we allow carnal attitudes of bitterness, laziness or selfishness to keep us from giving our best.

We need the The Holy Spirit to help us be fervent toward our ministries.

Romans12:11 "Do not be slothful in your business, but fervent in spirit, serving the Lord."

We need the Holy Spirit to help us visualize eternity, visualize the rewards that await those who are diligent and not lackadaisical in their service to the Lord.

Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Proverbs 13:23 "Much food is in the tillage of the diligent, but there is one who is destroyed for lack of diligence."

Ask the Lord to help you avoid idling away your time by being diligent in every good work.

Proverbs 21:5 "The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty, careless, or ill-prepared will surely come to poverty."

We need Ask God to help us to plan how to use our time, talents and opportunities - making the most of our time for the Lord!

Father we don't want to be found lagging behind in diligence, we want to be found fervent in spirit, serving you Lord;

Come Holy Spirit and empower us to overcome any lackadaisical attitudes and move us into wholehearted devotion and motivation to demonstrate our love for God.

To Love the Lord our God with all our hearts and with all our souls and with all our strength and with all our minds, and love our neighbors as ourselves." (Luke 10:27) motivate us to wholeheartedly give you our best in every area of our personal, family or ministry experiences.

Come and start a fire down in our souls!

A fire Lord God that sets your will into motion

A fire that drives hearts into Wholehearted Worship.

A fire that drives people to stand up and take their place in the ministry you've called them to.

A fire that drives people into the very relationship they were created for.

We are in need of the fire to come that will burn up anything that hinders Love.
